Project Background
A significant 2-year drought recently experienced in the Western Cape lead to industries and businesses seeking alternative water security measures as a result of an unreliable municipal supply. Grandwest casino opted for a long-term solution that would take them off the municipal grid and secure an independent water supply. Aquest Colsen offered our borehole water treatment plant solution and was awarded the contract in November 2017.

Project outcome
The project was successfully commissioned in early 2018, with the borehole water treatment plant delivering 10 000 kilolitres per month, which is more than sufficient to sustain the whole of Grandwest Casino complex, successfully taking them off the municipal grid before the anticipated ‘Day Zero’ in Cape Town in 2018.
